i got a text this morning from my 17 year old nephew.
he told his parents last night that he didn't want to go to any more meetings and he was not attending the memorial because he doesn't believe the way jdubs believe.
i'm not sure how his parents have responded.
I just hope to say the right thing to push them over, but I have noticed it just puts them on the defensive
Ther is someone on utube, but I cant find the link now, who suggests asking questions, almost innocently, rather than an open challange. Its a way of sowing a seed, or even nurturing a doubt that is already there.

However I dont think his parents will take much notice. They'll only say there has been new light.

since i woke up from the delusion of the jw cult, i have seen things very differently.. it seems to me that all the gb and their suck ups gear up for is money and/or power.. eg.
brothers in cheap salesman suits on the platform.
the 'clean' image.
I sincerely doubt te individual GB members gets any large amount of money
I agree with pirata here. However, the governing body donot have to worry about
the financial crisis,
what are they going to eat,
where are they going to live,
what if my car breaks down,
what about my retirement,
oh no the freezer has broken down, etc etc.
these kind of worries get many people depressed. So even though they are not millionaires, they are free of the financial worries that bog the rest of us down.
Easy then, in their publications to say " trust in Jehovah".
ok heres a theoretical for you.. first of all i appreciate that not everyone here believes in an all powerful being ie.
a creator... but... not entertaining moral aspects of such and disagreements that will arise concerning it,.
what might be a theoretical picture of what might be able to be omnipresent and so on and so forth if the idea of an all powerful creator was so?.

Think of being on a ship. You and your husband are slowly but surely leaving behind the land of Dub.
You can still see the people on the coastline clearly.They are still your " friends" in a way.
But they will get ( are getting in fact ) smaller and smaller. One day what they say and do wont have any effect on you. They'll be too far away to notice.

me personally not so much, then 9/11 happend and things started to change and i started getting scared of it.

I was more afraid of the persecussion that I was assured I would have to face, before the bigA.
